Tattersalls fair worth €2m to local economy
OVER 25,000 visitors are expected at Ireland's biggest family picnic and equestrian country fair at Tattersalls.
Olympic and world medallists, as well as Irish hopefuls for Rio 2016, will take part in the International Horse Trials from May 27 to 31.
The huge equestrian and country fair is situated in the middle of the Tattersall's estate near the villages of Ratoath and Dunboyne.
It is expected that the entire event will be worth over €2m to the local economy.
An army of 300 volunteers will supplement the work of the existing 25 full-time staff over the competition and it's estimated it will take 11,270 man hours to organise the entire event
Eight of the world's top 13 riders will battle it out in the five-day event which will see some 350 competitors from 12 countries participate.
