Sybil's set for new TV3 evening show

TV3's Sybil Mulcahy has landed her own show as part of a major shake-up at the station.

The Herald can reveal how the Midday presenter will co-anchor a new magazine-style evening show expected to go out around 7.30pm.

She'll be joined on the new programme by Midweek reporter Michael Ryan as the pair freshen up TV3's evening schedule.

One of the station's best-known faces, she was previously a member of the Xpose team, before getting her own morning show with Martin King and then working on Midday with Elaine Crowley.

The new show is expected to run directly after TV3's showbiz programme Xpose, as it targets the evening TV audience.

The entertainment show is also up for a re-vamp, as it's being extended from 30 minutes to a full hour with a fresh face drafted in to join Karen Koster and the team.

The news comes after TV3 confirmed it was axing Midweek in favour of a new public affairs unit.
