Sinead's ex-private chef has a recipe for success

Suzanne Lynch has gone from working as a private chef with Sinead O'Connor to being one-half of a successful baking mix company.

Suzanne (27), from Blackrock, along with Catherine Buggy (26), from Clonskeagh, have come up with a recipe for success with their Boutique Bake products, which are now stocked nationwide.

The accomplished cook gained experience in a number of jobs, which included a stint working as a private chef for Sinead O'Connor.

"I got the job from seeing the advert online. My previous experience in Ballymaloe really helped acquiring the job. The role itself was a fantastic experience," said Suzanne. "Sinead was an absolute pleasure to work for, and her family were a lovely bunch to be around. I spent quite a bit of time in their kitchen, the hub of activity in the house, and I got to know all of them."

She said that Sinead is "very down to earth" at home.

"The flexible hours of the job gave me the time to work on Boutique Bake on the side," she added.

Suzanne and Catherine have developed a dry baking mix range with five products, including lemon drizzle cake, rustic brown bread and Belgian chocolate brownie, and super-seed flapjack mixes, allowing people to whip up their own taste of home baking.

"There is a big interest in home baking. It is a mix so you are half way there," Catherine said. "We don't use additives or preservatives."

The two women met while they were in school together at Mount Anville.

The ladies tested their range at farmers' markets in June 2012 and are now stocked in 40 gourmet stores around the country, with plans to grow by the end of the year.
