Shocked city to hold vigil for Karen
A VIGIL will be held in Glasgow city tonight for Karen Buckley.
Members of the Scottish Parliament are expected to attend the event.
The event, which is being organised through social networking website Facebook, is set to take place at 5pm in George's Square.
The page hopes that those attending "could embrace each other in Karen's honour and hope that those hurt by loss and fear and trauma will know we care".
Musicians and members of a local choir will also attend, in what organisers hope will be a touching and "beautiful" tribute for Karen.
Scottish National Party MSP for the Glasgow Kelvin constituency hopes the event will show the city's solidarity with the Buckley family from Cork.
"We're shocked, we're saddened an we want to give our support to Karen's family and friends," Ms White said.
"There will also be a vigil tomorrow in Garnethill Park, near the apartment where she lived. The University is also offering support and comfort for students, and we're gathering together with our thoughts and support for Karen and her family," Ms White added.
