Sheana Keane is set to return to the small screen with a new show on TV3.

Apart from some stand-in appearances on Late Lunch Live, Sheana (39, right) has been off air for four years.

She's returning to broadcasting with a new show called Get the Numbers, Write which is a three-part documentary about adult literacy.

The show follows five adults as they put aside their negative experiences and return to education.

"Get the Numbers, Write is such a powerful and very emotional show and I believe it will resonate with many people at home," Sheana said.

"Figures show that as many as one in six Irish adults struggle to understand the written word while one in four struggle with numbers.

"Yet, many people feel too ashamed to do anything about it. Hopefully this programme will not only raise awareness but will also give these many people the hope and encouragement to take the next step on the learning curve."

The show airs on Monday at 9pm on TV3.
