Shane's mum makes emotional appeal to catch his killers

SHANE Geoghegan's devastated mother has made a heartfelt plea for information on her son's killers.
Mary Geoghegan has called on "anyone at all to come forward" and she added: "Please help us out."
Her appeal will be screened on RTE's Crimecall tonight as gardai investigate the brutal murder.
Mrs Geoghegan also spoke of her total shock on being told her son had been gunned down.
Her initial response was that it could not be Shane who had been killed.
"My immediate response was there was no way it could be Shane. There was no way he could be in the way of anything that would cause him to be killed," Mary said.
Gardai in Limerick called to the Geoghegan family home on November 9 to tell them their beloved son had been shot dead in a case of mistaken identity.
Mary and her husband Tom were told "gentle giant" Shane (28) had been a victim of Limerick's McCarthy-Dundon gang.
The fun-loving rugby player was shot because he resembled a criminal who lived in the neighbourhood.
On Crimecall, Shane's cousin Garret Walsh (28) was critical of comments the rugby player was "in the wrong place at the wrong time".
Reconstruction
"He wasn't in the wrong place at the wrong time. He was in the right place. He was walking home on a Saturday night 100 metres across the road. His life was interrupted," Garret said.
The programme will feature a reconstruction of the murder of the Garryowen rugby player in a bid to encourage members of the public to come forward with relevant information that could lead to the capture of his killers.
It will also show viewers the car which gardai believe may have been used in his murder.
Innocent Shane was walking from a friend's house in a Limerick city housing estate after watching the Ireland-Canada rugby match when he was gunned down in a case of mistaken identity.
Shane was hit three times in the upper body and once in the head, after being mistaken for the intended target -- believed to be gangster Johnny McNamara, linked with the Keane-Collopy gang.
Last week, more than 1,000 people attended the funeral of Shane Geoghegan -- with thousands more lining the city's streets as the sombre procession made its way to St Joseph's Church in the city.
