Series of shocking attacks in the capital

There was a series of racist incidents in the captial in the last six months of 2014, according to the ENAR report. They include:

l A young Black African male who was assaulted by a group of six people while walking alone through Dublin city centre early on a midweek evening, leaving him with a serious eye injury.

l A Chilean tourist was assaulted near the Central Bank on Dame Street. A teenage girl was said to have attacked him causing facial injuries.

l A traveller child was attacked by a man during the theft of the youngster's bicycle.

l The repeated physical and verbal abuse of a muslim couple by their neighbours since they moved to Ireland less than a year ago.

l Drink was thrown on a black woman early one evening during the week in a Dublin pub.
