Seoige launches new volunteer challenge
Sile Seoige (above) launched the Bank of Ireland Big Blue Box Volunteer Challenge in aid of St Vincent De Paul in Galway yesterday.
The fortnight-long initiative will run from June 5 until June 19 and involve 35 communities along the successful tourist trail known as the Wild Atlantic Way.
The Big Blue Box will travel from town to town by bike with the aim of raising money for the local SVP with members of the local community and Bank of Ireland staff set to travel 1,237 kilometres in total.
Bank of Ireland and other lenders are getting involved in charity events as they try to rebuild their public image following the financial crash which came close to destroying the country.
