Sales surge again during April
More than 13,160 new cars were licensed in April, according to the Central Statistics Office. That was 12pc more than the same month last year.
The number of cars registered in the first four months of the year has jumped almost 29pc from the same period last year to more than 65,700.
Imports fell 5.7pc year-on-year to fewer than 4,000 as the weak Euro made it more expensive to bring cars from the UK and Japan.
