RTE Two sees slump
RTE Two lost a fifth of its audience last year as the download generation tuned out and turned digital.
The struggling channel - which got €35.62 from every TV licence - saw its share of evening peak-time viewing plummet to less than 8pc of the potential audience (106,000 viewers) despite hit shows such as Damo and Ivor (pictured). Its average all-day viewing figures also dropped from about 53,100 a month in 2012 to only 40,600. That's 7.2pc of potential viewers.
RTE defended its ratings, stressing its young target audience still tunes in.
