Royal wedding baker to whip up a chocolate Clery's clock

DUBLIN'S iconic Clery's clock will be recreated in pure milk chocolate by the man behind Will and Kate's wedding cake.

Master chocolatier Barry Colenzo is travelling to the capital to form a giant clock made entirely out of the sweet substance.

The Herald understands that the expert baker has been commissioned by the O'Connell Street department store to create the capital's most famous meeting point.

The quirky design is part of Clery's Christmas campaign.

A second chocolate clock will be created and brought to Temple Street Children's Hospital on December 10, for all patients and their families.

The former Chef Patissier at London's Savoy Hotel, Barry Colenzo was also responsible for all the chocolate produced by Thornton's Chocolates where he worked for 30 years.

But he claims that his proudest moment was the top-secret assignment to create a wedding cake for the royal wedding of the century.
