Rory plays goofball in Damo & Ivor

Up-and-coming Irish actor Rory Fleck Byrne made his first appearance in top RTE2 show Damo and Ivor last night.

He plays Liam, a goofball loner who works as a chef in Michelo's - a posh delicatessen in Foxrock Village.

But despite going to school with Liam, Ivor has no recollection of him when he bumps into him in the shop while buying caviar.

The Kilkenny native, who lives in London, has enjoyed success since graduating from top acting school Rada.

COMEDY

Rory (inset) received strong reviews for his role in The Quiet Ones, a horror film about a university professor who assembles a team to help create a poltergeist. He also appeared in action comedy, Vampire Academy with fellow Irish actor Gabriel Byrne and Modern Family's Sarah Hyland.

The 27-year-old has just wrapped filming on upcoming feature Tiger Raid and proving that he's a home-bird, Rory is shooting his own short film called Bodies in Kilkenny.

"It's a black comedy about two undertakers struggling to stay connected to life," he said.
