'Robbie is hands on with wedding plans', says Kerrie
It's full steam ahead for Kerrie Harris, who has revealed how footballer fiance Robbie Brady is helping with every step of planning their wedding.
The couple got engaged last October when Robbie popped the question at Halloween.
Kerrie (25), from Swords, had previously said she and the sports star hoped to be married within the next two years, but she has now gotten to work organising the big day.
"We are actually just getting on to the wedding plans just now. It's not overwhelming yet.
"It's all really exciting and enjoyable. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in," she told the Diary.
The bride-to-be said Robbie is invested in their upcoming wedding and is beside her every step of the way as they work out the finer details.
"He does get involved, he wants to be involved in everything.
"It's going to be a big time in our lives," she said. Kerrie and Robbie have been together for a decade, having started dating when they were just 15.
They had their engagement party in the Gravity Bar in the Guinness Storehouse with a group of their nearest and dearest.
The footballer recently completed his move from Norwich to Burnley, signing a three-and-a-half-year contract with the Premier League club.
Dance teacher Kerrie has described the move as "very exciting" and she is looking forward to seeing what the future holds.
"He's delighted with his move. It's all really exciting for us and the family. We're looking forward to the new adventure," she said.
Kerrie had known Robbie for quite some time before they actually started dating as they grew up close to one another.
The Swords beauty said their first date was a subdued affair as they met at the Spire on O'Connell Street and took a stroll around town holding hands.
Kerrie studied marketing and advertising at Tallaght IT before she started running her own dance school, Soul2Soul Dance Academy in Swords.
The loved-up pair are now based in the UK and Kerrie said they have to work trips home around Robbie's hectic schedule.
"We're based in the UK. We come back as much as we can - we come and go. We come home to see our family and friends," she said.
Kerrie and Robbie have a three-year-old daughter, Halle, who was present when they got engaged last year.
"She's so sociable. She's great. She's a great little kid," Kerrie said of her daughter.
Kerrie added that Robbie is a "one woman man" and he makes her feel very secure.
