Reveller spat in the face of doorman kicking him out

A REVELLER who didn't want the night to end spat at a doorman and threatened to "get" him as staff manhandled him out of a nightclub after closing time.

Glen Brazil (23) shouted at a security guard, "see you, I'll get you for this" as doormen and gardai struggled to remove him from a nightclub.

A court heard the defendant repeatedly tried to hit out at security staff and gardai, who were forced to use pepper spray to subdue him. A judge ordered Brazil to complete an alcohol awareness course and adjourned sentencing to December.

The defendant, of Ashlawn Park, Ballybrack, admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to threatening and abusive behaviour and assaulting a security guard.

The incident took place shortly before 3am at Burn Beach Club, The Hill, Stillorgan on November 21 last year.

Garda Brian McCabe said he was on mobile patrol near the nightclub when he saw security staff struggling to restrain Brazil.

Garda McCabe said he told the defendant to calm down, but he failed to do so, and threatened a doorman. He also spat in his face.

Garda McCabe said he was forced to use his pepper spray to subdue Brazil, who was then restrained and handcuffed.

Defence lawyer Rory Staines said the incident was totally out of character for Brazil.
