The talented junior choir at the Rathdown Girls School in Glenageary have put an Oscar-worthy effort into recording a new charity single for Irish Guide Dogs.

The singers from the school have released Falling Slowly, from the movie Once, starrring Glen Hansard.

The song is available at a cost of €5 from the school office and is also available on iTunes for 99c.

The girls recorded the single with the team from Dun Laoghaire Further Education Institution's music prduction department in the auditorium at Rathdown Music School.

The college students wanted to encourage the younger pupils to get involved with a charity CD they produce every year.

Sixth-year student Lucy McCabe accompanied on the cello and teachers Jude Stamper and Audrey Trainor played the piano and the violin.

"They worked very hard, they are so enthusiastic. They took all the music home to learn if off so we wouldn't have any rustling of paper," teacher Audrey Trainor said.
