Probe as children hurt in rally crash

GARDAI are investigating the circumstances surrounding a crash at a car rally in Kerry which has left two children in hospital.

The two-year-old boy and seven-year-old girl were injured yesterday morning when a car taking part in the rally went out of control.

The car hit a barrier in the Ballymacelligott area near Tralee. The seven-year-old girl was airlifted to Cork University Hospital by Valentia Coastguard with back and leg injuries while the toddler is being treated at Kerry General Hospital.
