Polish in Ireland are logging on to find love

Increasing numbers of Polish singletons are looking for love online in Ireland and an Irish dating service has now set up a Polish section.

AnotherFriend.com has translated part of its site and have aimed it specifically at Poles who are living here and who are keen on meeting other Polish people in Ireland.

The website is targeting the 250,000 Poles living here, many of whom find it difficult to date. Statistics have shown that 67pc of Polish people have plans to stay here for good and are looking for a long-term relationship.

Managing director of AnotherFriend.com, Grainne Barry, believes that the new site with a ".pl" address will enable Polish users to get more from the online dating experience.

Irish people still prefer to be introduced to a date by a friend or family member, but the online dating site say that they now have over 200,000 Irish members.

According to Ms Barry, a typical user on the site is aged between 28 and 45 but the ratio of men to women is 50:50.

"Feedback from our Polish users has been great and as the dating world evolves, AnotherFriend.com will strive to make it as simple as possible for all our users to find love," said Ms Barry.

The dating service claims to be responsible for over 200 weddings, many engagements and countless new friendships.
