Pippa makes the most of bank holiday with son Ollie at the beach

The sun was shining yesterday and model mum Pippa O'Connor made the most of it by spending the day at the beach with her young son Ollie.

Posting a picture with her two-year-old, she wrote: "Chipper chips and fresh air. Love Bank Holidays".

The model turned entrepeneur, who runs pippa.ie and her 'Fashion Factories' days out was relaxing after a busy weekend.

She spent Saturday afternoon in Merrion Square at the Cadbury Easter Egg Trail in aid of children's charity, Barnardos.

That evening she was interviewed on the Saturday Night Show and she wrote on her site that she was nervous about going on the show.

"I was looking forward to going on but I felt a little nervous too - probably because I was apprehensive about being asked about my mum," she said. He mum Louise Mullen sadly passed away in October.

But she was pleased with how the show went.

"The feedback online was so lovely - I feel very lucky that people take the time to write to me. I love reading all the comments and I'm so grateful that people are always so nice towards me."

Gavin for US TV slot

Dublin singer-songwriter Gavin James is set to make his American TV debut on top reality show, Dancing With the Stars. The Say Hello singer has seen his star rise.

"Big news! I'm performing The Book of Love live on Dancing With the Stars on Monday. First time on US TV! Aaahhhh! x," he wrote on Twitter.

Gavin recently performed an intimate gig for his fans in the Crypt at Christchurch Cathedral to launch Lynx's new range, Bring the Quiet.

Celebs cook up a storm

Every Saturday this month, Bake Cook Dine events will take place in the newly revamped Arnotts Kitchen Department.

A series of exciting demonstrations will take place focusing on all things baking, cooking and dining.

There will also be lots of competitions, giveaways and customers will be in with the chance of winning cooking equipment.

Celebrities taking part in the event include Clodagh McKenna who runs Clodagh's Kitchen at the top department store, Andrew Rudd, Domini Kemp and Kevin Thornton.

Also demonstrating their favourite recipes will be model Daniella Moyles and Lovin' Dublin creator Niall Harbison.
