o'driscoll 'DELIGHTED' AS HE signs tv deal TO WORK WITH college pal craig
Retired rugby legend Brian O'Driscoll is tackling a new job as a pundit on BT Sport.
The most-capped player in the history of Irish rugby will be lining out alongside Craig Doyle as he gets his teeth stuck into some rugby presenting.
In addition to starting a role on Newstalk's Off the Ball show this September, BOD will be going in front of the cameras a rugby ambassador and a BT sport ambassador.
The 36-year-old will be covering the newly- formed European Rugby Championships Cup and European Rugby Challenge Cup. He will also appear on the station's weekly sports show Rugby Tonight.
Speaking on his new role, he said he was "excited" to be embarking on one of the next steps in his career.
"It's a big change for me but I'm looking forward to the challenge and being involved at the inception of the brand new European tournament at a brand new channel like BT Sport," he said.
"I'm joining BT Sport because I've been impressed by their new and fresh approach to rugby coverage and I'm looking forward to being a part of their team."
His former Blackrock College pal Craig Doyle was quick to offer his congratulations to Brian on Twitter.
"Delighted to welcome Brian O'Driscoll to the BT Sport rugby team. One of life's good guys. Kettle on and camper packed," he said.
O'Driscoll retired last season as one of our greatest sporting heroes, clocking up 133 Irish Test caps during his career and is the highest try scorer of all time.
