O2 becomes Three as rebranding is complete
MORE than 1.5 million O2 customers have become part of the Three brand in one of the last steps following the €780m takeover of O2 Ireland by the operator that will see €300m invested in the network.
"Our customers across the country will benefit from this investment with an improved experience and high speed data coverage in more locations than ever," Three chief executive Robert Finnegan said.
He said Three wants to overtake Vodafone to become Ireland's top mobile network.
It's currently Ireland's second biggest mobile operator with over two million customers and has to date invested nearly €2bn in building its Irish network.
Three bought Telefonica Ireland, which operated the O2 brand, in July 2014.
