O Cuiv visits Irish fest in US
Government Minister Eamon O Cuiv is visiting the US to attend the Milwaukee Irish Fest -- the world's largest Irish cultural festival.
The four-day event will feature its own Gaeltacht, currach races, an Irish dancing tent and hurling games.
Visiting the event for the sixth time, Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs Minister O Cuiv will be leading delegations aiming to attract US tourism and investment.
Soul singer died from a stroke
Isaac Hayes apparently died of a stroke, officials with the sheriff's department have said.
The deep-voiced soul singer died on Sunday after he was found unconscious at his Memphis residence.
Family members found Hayes lying on the floor of his home beside a treadmill that was still switched on.
'Pregnant pact' principal quits
A US high school principal who was quoted in a magazine as saying that some teenagers had made a pact to get pregnant has resigned.
Time magazine quoted Mr Sullivan as saying some Gloucester girls had formed a "pregnancy pact".
He later said he didn't recall using the word "pact," but believed some of the pregnancies were intentional.
Seventeen girls in the school reportedly became pregnant this year -- four times the usual number.
