Naomi Campbell: I love the pubs and the free Guinness here so working in Ireland will be great
Forget dainty cocktails and fine wine - there's nothing supermodel Naomi Campbell loves more than a pint of Guinness in Dublin.
The catwalk legend (45) was unveiled as the new face of Newbridge Silverware yesterday and Naomi said she couldn't be happier to be on Irish shores.
"The Irish were always really welcoming and made me feel at home. I love the pubs. I loved walking down Grafton Street and having Guinness.
"I'd never have to pay for it because [the barmen] would always give it to me for free," she added, jokingly.
The British beauty will represent the iconic Irish brand for the next two years and having previously lived in Dublin, Naomi said she has a soft spot for the city.
"I've known about Newbridge for a while. We've been talking since the beginning of the year and I also know about Newbridge beca use I used to live in Dublin and I know the craftsmanship and the work and the designs," Naomi said.
"The craftsmanship that goes into what you do is amazing."
The famously hot- tempered model also has other ties to the capital, having been previously engaged to U2 bassist Adam Clayton over 20 years ago.
Although the couple split in 1994, Naomi remains close friends with Bono's wife Ali Hewson, revealing she had met up with the Dublin native on Monday night.
Naomi also counted the activist's Edun clothing range among her style favourites and said she is a big fan of Irish designers Philip Treacy and father and daughter couturiers John and Simone Rocha. The 45-year-old will replace actress Amy Huberman as the face of the brand.
