Murdered man last seen in Dun Laoghaire

Gardai investigating the murder of a Dublin man whose partial remains were found at a recycling plant have renewed an appeal for information.

The remains of Mark Burke (36), originally from Dun Laoghaire, were found at Thornton's Recycling Plant, Killeen Road in Ballyfermot on July 31, 2014.

Mr Burke had been last seen alive three days earlier on Corrig Avenue in Dun Laoghaire.

Gardai have followed up on 600 lines of investigation in a bid to discover how Mr Burke met his death.

The appeal is focused on the Dun Laoghaire area where Mr Burke was best known.

"There is a period of up to 80 hours for which Mark's movements are unknown. Gardai now wish to establish his movements during this time," a statement said.

Gardai are appealing to anybody with information on Mr Burke's whereabouts between July 28 and 31, 2014 to contact them at Ballyfermot Garda Station on 01 6667200, the Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any garda station.
