Munster hot-shot CJ Stander shows off his birthday gift
Munster rugby ace CJ Stander’s wife brought out the big guns for his birthday with his ‘deadly-looking’ present.
The South African star appeared to be delighted as he posed for the camera holding his unusual gift – an AK-47-style Airsoft gun.
The rugby player, who celebrated his 25th birthday on Sunday, took to Instagram to show off the present, given to him by his wife Jean-Marie.
“What a present!!! Thanks my lovely wife you are truly the best!” he wrote on the social media site.
The young couple have been married since the summer of 2013, just after Stander made the move to play for Munster.
Jean-Marie, who is studying law, is the youngest sister of South African Olympic swimmer Ryk Neethling. She is a keen swimmer herself and
has even designed a range of swimwear.
Hoping to follow in her brother’s Olympic footsteps, Jean-Marie (inset right) had her dreams dashed when she missed out on the chance to compete in the Beijing Olympics in 2008 after being struck down with the measles.
Jean-Marie may have grown up on the sunny plains of South Africa, but the stunning student seems more than happy to settle in Ireland with her sports star husband CJ.
The beautiful athlete-turned-
designer has been enjoying the recent spell of good weather in “perfect” Ireland.
“I think God only gives Ireland a few days of great weather each year, because if it had more warm and sunny days, Ireland would be too perfect,” she wrote on Twitter yesterday.
“Few things lift the mood like a gorgeous clear sky & sunny day in Ireland,” she tweeted on Sunday.
“Think I’ll just be outside until the sun sets, thank you.
“Sunny and not a cloud in the sky! I love you Spring #heatwave #pleasedontleave #Ireland.”
