Mum's kick caused €1k damage to side of Jeep

A YOUNG mother kicked the side of a Jeep causing €1,000 worth of damage because there was "bad blood" between her and the owner, a court heard.

Sarah Murphy (25) said she was mortified at her behaviour.

Judge Hugh O'Donnell adjourned the matter to allow Murphy save €250 for the victim.

The defendant, of Homeville Court in Knocklyon, admitted before Dun Laoghaire District Court to criminal damage to a Jeep at Roseville Terrace in Dundrum on April 3.

The defence said there was "friction" between the defendant and the victim, which was no excuse for her behaviour.

The defence said Murphy is a single parent on social welfare, but could pay compensation to the victim if given some time.
