Model Emma Waldron keeping busy at fashion week
Former Miss Ireland Emma Waldron is keeping busy on the catwalks at New York Fashion Week.
She has featured in a number of shows already, including the Irish Fashion Showcase, which took place at the Consulate General of Ireland on Park Avenue last week.
"It was so nice to be back working with Irish designers, it was the best way to kick off fashion week," she told the Diary.
"I've also been in a couple of other shows and there's been a few parties as well. I'm absolutely loving it."
The 26-year-old was also starstruck recently when she was in the same box as Drake to watch Serena Williams play in the semi-final of the US Open.
"It was a dream come true to see her play," she said.
"I've played tennis since I was seven and watched Wimbledon religiously every summer.
"Although I was absolutely devastated for her to loose, she is such an incredible player to watch. It was amazing," she added.
Also spotted in New York this week was style icon Laura Whitmore.
Vaccines Dublin gig
Following their main stage set at Longitude Festival this past summer, The Vaccines have announced their Irish return with a date at Dublin's Olympia Theatre on December 8.
The band released their third album - English Graffiti - earlier this year and will tour Europe and Australia before hitting Irish soil.
Tickets are priced from €23, including booking fee, and go on sale at 10am this Friday, September 18 from Ticketmaster outlets and www.ticketmaster.ie.
Get spooky at museum
With summer well behind us, everyone is turning their attention to Halloween.
What better way to prepare than by getting spooked by the Cailleach - the ancient hag of wisdom and Irish Folklore - at the National Leprechaun Museum on Jervis Street?
The Cailleach will be available for adults only to visit every Friday and Saturday night after 6.30pm in September and October.
Under 18s visits start from October 23 to November 1 before 6.30pm.
However, if your little ones just can't wait until then, all ages can venture into the witch's lair on Culture Night. That takes place this Friday.
Tickets start from €6 and are available from www.leprechaunmuseum.ie.
