Mobiles' charity donations VAT mix-up
MOBILE phone providers have been accused of incorrectly charging VAT on charitable donations made via text message.
The Minister for Finance Michael Noonan admitted that donations were outside the scope of Irish VAT.
He said, in a response to a Parliamentary Question from TD Eamon O Cuiv, that the phone providers were working to resolve the issue in the near future.
