Microsoft bites Apple
MICROSOFT'S new Windows Phone 7, available from October 21 in Ireland, aims to compete with Apple's iPhone and other smartphone manufacturers.
The phone incorporates Xbox Live, Internet Explorer Mobile and Office in a new design and the ability to take and post photos faster.
The phone software organises activities into files that update with new information.
The phones are being made by HTC, Dell, Samsung and LG Electronics.
Initial apps available from launch will include Twitter, Netflix, the Associated Press, OpenTable, Flixster and Travelocity.
