Meet Dublin's luckiest man ... on his latest trip to Big Apple with the National Lottery

This is Dublin's luckiest man -- on his latest National Lottery adventure.

John Murray (68), from Glasnevin, made it fourth time lucky when he won a trip of a lifetime to New York on the Big Money Gameshow.

And incredibly John managed to bring his son and daughter on the trip -- after a second winning ticket was pulled out in his name, on the same night from the same draw drum.

The double win followed two other trips that the Glasnevin man won with the National Lottery -- one of which also ended up in New York.

A delighted John told the Herald: "I've seen the world with the Lottery . . . it's cheaper that way! This win was an incredible thing. The odds must be in the millions. If you went into a bookies and asked for odds on something like that happening you'd never get them.

"But I've been lucky for the past 40 years, ever since I met my wife," he said, adding that himself and his beloved Maureen celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary last month.

"I expect to win again next year. In fact, my left hand is getting very itchy all day. I'm feeling I might have a bit of luck coming on the Lotto next week," he laughed.

The couple travelled to the Big Apple with their son Mark and daughter Carol, staying in the luxury Sofitel hotel just off Fifth Avenue with 38 other winners and their guests.

The group, accompanied by gameshow host Brian Ormonde and his model fiancee Pippa O'Connor, enjoyed a cruising night-time meal on the Hudson, a Broadway show and -- all importantly -- hitting the shops.
