Martin gets 'Cuffed' in election row
THE so-called 'Battle of Blackrock' is now a four-horse race after Fianna Fail councillor Jennifer Cuffe blindsided her party leader by entering the race to contest the General Election.
Ms Cuffe's decision to stand will come as a blow to former minister Mary Hanafin who had been relying on securing the support of Ms Cuffe's organisation in Cabinteely.
Her decision to stand comes despite Micheal Martin telling RTE's 'The Late Late Show' that she was not contesting the selection convention.
Local Fianna Fail sources say a four-horse race will favour councillor Cormac Devlin, whom party bosses believe has little chance of winning a Dail seat.
