HOZIER and his Longitude colleagues are behind extensive renovation works planned for Marlay Park.

The Rathfarnham park is due to be upgraded using money raised from annual concerts held there, including the three-day Longitude festival.

Footpaths through the wooded area will be repaired and widened where necessary according to a plan released to Fine Gael councillor Neale Richmond at a recent Dundrum local area committee.

The gardens around the newly-refurbished Laurelmere cottage will also be fenced. Trees felled last year during the winter are also set to be replaced.

Work will also continue on the Marlay Craft Courtyard in the final three months of the year.

The courtyard was earmarked for an extensive overhaul two years ago, including building new toilets and modernising the building.

The cricket and football fields in the park will also be drained before the end of the year.
