Man stabbed in early morning burglary in Ranelagh

Gardai in Dublin are investigating an aggravated burglary in a flat in Ranelagh which has left one man in hospital with suspected stab wounds.

The incident happened at around 2am on the Charleston Road.

Two men gained entry to the flat and threatened a male occupant before assaulting him.

Gardai say the men then escaped with a small number of items and a small quantity of cash.

The victim was taken to St James's Hospital with what is reported as a stab wound that is not life threatening.
