Man is charged over shooting
A man has been charged in connection with the shooting and wounding of a convicted killer in Limerick.
Jason Frenye (22), of no fixed abode, appeared before Limerick District Court charged with possession of a sawn-off shotgun with intent to endanger life at Hyde Road, Limerick, on Saturday. Joseph 'Dodo' McCarthy (42) suffered wounds to his hands and legs.
The court granted the accused free legal aid and remanded him in custody to appear before it again on Thursday.
