Man facing trial over threats to kill charges

A DUBLIN man is facing trial charged with assaulting another man, threatening to kill him and damaging his car in an incident in the west of the city.

Mark Fox (30) had the case against him adjourned at Blanchardstown District Court for the preparation of a book of evidence.

The court heard the alleged incident happened in 2013 and Judge David McHugh said the prosecution must be ready to proceed on the next date.

Mr Fox, with an address at The Green, Mulhuddart, is charged with assault causing harm to a man and criminal damage to his Citroen Berlingo.

He is also charged with producing an iron bar capable of inflicting injury in a manner likely to intimidate another, while committing an assault.

Mr Fox is further charged with two counts of making a threat to kill or cause serious harm to the same man, intending him to believe that it would be carried out.

The charges are under the Non Fatal Offences Against the Person Acts. The offences are alleged to have happened at Damastown Road, Mulhuddart on June 23, 2013.

The accused has not yet indicated how he intends to plead to any of the charges.

A State solicitor said the book of evidence was not ready as there was material outstanding.
