Man faces trial on gun and drugs charges

A DUBLIN man allegedly caught with guns and drugs after a number of raids by gardai is facing trial on the charges.

Jason Hughes (31) of Castlefield Park in Clonsilla, appeared before Blanchardstown District Court charged with possession of cannabis and MDMA, as well as having the drugs for sale or supply at Park Avenue in Castleknock on April 17 last.

He is also charged under Section 15A of the Misuse of Drugs Act, where the alleged value of the drugs is more than €13,000.

Mr Hughes is further accused of having more than 140 rounds of ammunition as well as a semi-automatic rifle, two 9mm semi-automatic pistols and a Browning hi-power semi-automatic pistol.

Judge McHugh adjourned the matter to October for the book of evidence.
