A MAN is in a serious condition in hospital after a stabbing incident in the Darndale area of the capital this morning.
The victim is understood to have presented himself at Beaumont Hospital around 7am after driving himself there following the vicious assault.
The 26-year-old had to have emergency surgery after losing a lot of blood.
The young man is from the Coolock area and the stabbing incident happened at Tulip Court in Darndale.

Sources say that tensions in the Darndale area have increased in recent weeks after the release of a well-known local criminal from jail.
It is not known if this criminal is linked to this morning's brutal knife attack.
"This man lost a large amount of blood and there are grave concerns for his welfare," a source said.
"However he was able to get himself to hospital and this is what may have saved his life," they added.
