Man dies in rush-hour accident
A man in his 30s has died following a serious road accident in Dublin.
The man, named locally as Raymond Ring, was driving a motorcycle that was in collision with a car shortly before 5pm yesterday.
The crash happened on the Davitt Road near the Naas Road junction in Drimnagh during rush hour.
It is understood Mr Ring was a father and died at the scene. The crash happened parallel to the Luas stop on Davitt Road.
The car that was involved in the fatal accident was displaying a learner plate.
It is not known how many people were in the car or the condition of the driver or passengers.
Gardai remained at the scene for several hours.
Diversions were put in place and the incident led to serious delays in the area.
Another serious crash occurred yesterday in Cavan.
One man (65) was in a critical condition last night and another (23) was seriously injured after the accident that occurred at approximately 2pm on the N3 Cavan to Dublin road.
The accident involved a van and a jeep.
