Man charged with stabbing murder of young father outside apartments in city
A 39-year-old man has appeared in court charged with murder following the fatal stabbing of a father-of-one.
Keith Connerton was remanded in custody to appear before Cloverhill District Court later this week.
Mr Connerton must apply to the High Court for bail on a murder charge.
The accused, of Deerpark Avenue, Tallaght, appeared before Tallaght District Court charged with the murder of Graham McKeever (32).
Mr McKeever, who was from Clondalkin, was discovered unconscious and with several stab wounds to his body outside an apartment block in Deerpark Avenue in the early hours of last February 18.
Gda Kieran Kilcoyne said the accused was arrested at his home at 7.37am yesterday and transported to Tallaght Garda Station, where he was charged with murder at 8.15am.
Gda Kilcoyne said the acc- used was handed a true copy of the charge sheet and made no reply to the charge after caution.
Defence lawyer George Burns applied for legal aid, saying Mr Connerton was unemployed and receiving Jobseeker's All- owance.
Judge Bernadette Owens granted legal aid to defence solicitor Michael Staines.
The accused, who was dressed all in black, kept his head bowed and his arms crossed during the short hearing and did not address the court.
Judge Owens remanded Mr Connerton in custody to appear via videolink at Cloverhill on Friday.
