Man (42) found dead in house by his father
A 42-YEAR-OLD man has been found dead in Rathfarnham with what is believed to be stab wounds to his back.
Gardai are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of Tyrone McKenna at a house in the Marley Court South estate.
It is understood that his father, Thomas, discovered his son's body at the bottom of the stairs at around 5pm.
Gardai from Dundrum are investigating Mr McKenna's death, which is being treated as suspicious.
Officers preserved the scene for a technical examination and Deputy State Pathologist Dr Michael Curtis arrived at the house shortly after 9pm.
Neighbours said it was a very quiet estate and everyone knew each other.
Tyrone "came and went and kept to himself", said one. Another said his father was a "fantastic neighbour, larger than life, he took care of our house when we were away".
The same neighbour said she only knew the deceased man to "salute", but he had been a handsome young man.
Others on the estate were last night shocked and saddened.
Another neighbour said: "Tom has lived here for more than 25 years. He just celebrated his 70th birthday. His son would be in and out to him. I think he lived there."
