'LYING Eyes' Sharon Collins has begun a new life in Belfast in an attempt to put her criminal past behind her.

The woman, who was found guilty of conspiring to murder her ex-partner PJ Howard and his two sons Robert and Niall, is now working as a masseuse and professional dog walker.

Sharon (52) walked free from prison in 2012 after serving almost four years of a six-year jail term.

She said she is no longer in a relationship with PJ Howard, after initially reuniting with him when she was released.

"I think you eventually get to the point where a relationship is over and it is time to let it go," she said.

"But we ended on very good terms."

Sharon said that she finds it difficult to make friends. She moved to Belfast for a six-month break, but found that people were good to her there.

"Everyone deserves a second chance. I should be able to get on with my life," she said.

"At what point do you tell people? Do you build your relationship with someone first and is it then all based on a lie? Do you feel people deserve to know everything from the word go?"

Collins, who denied during the 2008 trial that she used the internet alias 'lyingeyes98', was also convicted of soliciting an Egyptian poker dealer to murder the three men.

"I have always, always maintained my innocence. But shame and guilt are two very different things," she said in an interview with the Sunday Independent. "No one wants to say they have been to prison."

Although she initially planned to pen a book on her experience, she has now shelved the idea. Sharon said that she is reluctant to get into a relationship at this time.

"It is not a priority in my life right now," she said. "The baggage that I am coming with is a big ask for anyone."

The Clare woman said that she is still haunted by nightmares about her incarceration.

"I have nightmares that I am running from something and I wake up and I have to remember where I am," she said.
