Hostess Michele McGrath was doing her usual stint on the door of Buck's Townhouse, welcoming in the city's socialites.

Among those spotted in over the weekend was Keywest's lead singer Andy Kavanagh, who was there with model girlfriend Laura O'Shea.

Ambitious Michele has got her own sights set on stardom, given the raucous reception that her band with Leanne Moore is getting online.

Called Liir, their cover of Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit has already clocked up more than 20,000 views on YouTube.

She formed the band with former You're a Star singer Leanne and fellow crooner Kim Hayden of Voice of Ireland fame.

Managed by Linda Martin, they're hitting all the right notes of late, given their rapid ascent.

Michele told the Diary how they have also confirmed their first gig at Vicar Street. She and her equally photogenic bandmates take to the stage there supporting Swing Cats on November 26.

Michele said they're "really excited about it" as they perform their first EP for fans.

She's also flying high in her personal life as she continues her relationship with UFC star Cathal Pendred.
