Liam lends his voice to Paddy's Day ad

LIAM Neeson has lent his voice to an impressive new promotion for Tourism Ireland.

The Taken star is a champion of tourism for his home country and this latest advertisement shows the country in a whole new light.

Liam's gravelly tones narrate while the camera spans over the impressive Blasket Islands in Kerry, the jaw-dropping Carrick-a-rede rope bridge and lush landscape.

The video begins with images of iconic sights around the world lit up in green including Christ the Redeemer statue in Brazil, the Colosseum in Rome and the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

"Every year on St Patrick's Day, the world goes green," Liam says.

"But here in Ireland every day is bathed in green. After all, this old Emerald Isle is like no other place on earth.

"Rugged coasts and grassy hills collide and time can stand still or fly by.

"It is a place where music flows as easy as conversation and welcomes are warm and delivered with a smile.

"Happy St Patrick's Day from everyone here in Ireland."

The Hollywood hero said that he was happy to get on board for the promotional video (inset).

"I'm delighted to be helping Tourism Ireland celebrate St Patrick's Day," Liam said.

"It will be wonderful to see the world turn green again on March 17 as nations come together to celebrate the fun and warmth of the Irish."

Niall Gibbons, CEO of Tourism Ireland, said that they hope the video will be shared by people around the world, thanks to Liam.

"We are extremely grateful to Liam Neeson for his tremendous generosity in agreeing to help us promote the island of Ireland," Mr Gibbons said.

"He is an enormously popular, global personality and I am confident that the film we have created will be seen and shared by people across the world - inspiring them to put the island of Ireland on their holiday wish-list for 2015."
