Liam (8) donates all his Communion money to Temple Street Children's hospital
A young boy with a "tremendously big heart" made more than a few faces smile at a hospital for children when he donated all his First Holy Communion money.
Liam O'Flynn (8) gave €550 to Temple Street Children's Hospital and young patients, their siblings and hospital staff were all treated to ice-creams on one of the hottest days of the year.
Proud mum Susan O'Flynn said Liam, from Monkstown, Co Cork, suggested two months before his Communion that he wanted to use his money to help the hospital where his younger sister Gracie (2) was treated.
"He's remarkable, to be honest, it's been a hugely positive day," she told the Herald.
Temple Street Children's Hospital thanked Liam for his generosity.
