Legal wrangles in murder trial

THE prosecution evidence in the trial of a Wicklow man accused of fatally shooting a 27-year-old father of two in front of his partner and young son has concluded.

Garrett O'Brien (37) of Clover Hill, Bray denies murdering Seamus "Shay" O'Byrne in the driveway of his home at Tymon Park North, Tallaght on March 13, 2009.

Lawyers for the accused have not yet indicated to the court whether they will go into evidence.

The jury has been sent home while legal argument continues at the Central Criminal Court.

A Chicago family claims members of the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" cast were real louts during a boozy trip to the Caribbean.

Yolanda Martinez has filed a lawsuit in New York saying Teresa Guidice from the reality TV series sprayed champagne in her face, and then Guidice and others on the show beat up Martinez' son-in-law in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic.



105 perish in



Chinese floods

China says the death toll from recent rain-triggered flooding has risen to 105 people with 63 others missing.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs said that most of the deaths were in central Hunan province, where torrential rain is expected to continue until Friday.
