LA hit by small earthquake
A small earthquake has rattled a wide swath of greater Los Angeles, shaking buildings downtown.
The US Geological Survey says the magnitude-3.7 quake hit around 7am near Carson. The significant depth of seven miles meant fewer people were likely to feel it.
Agency seismologists said the quake was near the Newport-Inglewood fault, but it was too small to determine which fault caused it.
Los Angeles police say there have been no immediate reports of damage or injuries.
