Knife boy (12) faces sentence
A THEN 12-year-old boy who brandished a pocket-knife during a mugging in Dublin is to be sentenced in May.
The boy, now aged 13, has pleaded guilty at the Dublin Children's Court to stealing a mobile phone from a male on a date in May last year.
He also faces a connected charge for production of a pocket-knife.
Judge John O'Connor adjourned sentencing until a date in May and the boy was remanded on continuing bail.
The court had heard it was alleged the boy along with two others approached and "asked to look at the male's phone" and the teen then "knocked it out of his hand".
Woman fatally savaged by dog
A man is due in court today after a woman died as the result of a dog attack.
The 23-year-old man has been charged with two offences under the Dangerous Dogs Act and will appear at Cardiff Magistrates' Court today.
Police were called to a house in the Ely area of Cardiff after a 64-year-old woman suffered serious injuries when she was attacked by a dog.
Despite attempts by officers and paramedics to save her, the woman later died at the University Hospital of Wales.
UN unsure on nuclear Iran
The UN nuclear watchdog chief has said the agency still was not able to conclude whether all nuclear material in Iran was being used for peaceful purposes.
"We continue to verify the non-divergence of nuclear material declared by Iran but we are still not in a position to conclude that all nuclear material in Iran is in peaceful purpose," International Atomic Energy Agency Director General Yukiya Amano said at a conference in Washington.
Instagram's new photo app
Photo-sharing service Instagram has launched a new app that will allow users to combine several photos into one.
Called Layout from Instagram, the app enables users to select up to three photos at once and combine them into a single image in a range of layouts. The image-based social network was bought by Facebook in 2012 for $1bn.
