'Kim Kardashian's waist trainer made me feel horrendous' - Irish fitness model Maeve Madden
Fitness model Maeve Madden has slammed the 'waist trainer' girdle beloved of the Kardashians and Hollywood A-listers.
Maeve decided to try out the waist trainer to see if it would enhance her curves - but she said it made her feel "horrendous".
"All of the Kardashians were wearing them, so I gave in and I bought one. It didn't work - I couldn't breathe," she said.
"It's a corset that you put on and it's supposed to make your waist smaller, but I felt horrendous.
"You're supposed to wear it for eight hours a day, but I thought my organs were going to collapse - they were pushed to the bottom of my stomach.
"It didn't even fix anything, it just made me feel worse," she added.
The gym bunny shares videos and updates of her work-outs online, but said she enjoys a few drinks as well.
"I train five days a week and each day I focus on a different area of my body," she said.
"I try and eat natural most of the time. You have to be consistent in your diet and in your eating plan.
"Obviously, I go out for drinks on the weekend - and I'll have cheat meals as well.
"But I don't really like to call them that, because I don't want to think of it as a reward.
"I want it to be a lifestyle that's sustainable rather than a fad diet," she added.
But even if she has a sore head from a night out, she still works out.
"If I've had a terrible binge or I'm feeling hungover or I'm just not motivated, I will always go to the gym," she said.
Luckily for the Newry native, fitness modelling isn't the only string to her bow - she is now the country's most renowned foot model.
"I do a bit of work as a foot model," she said.
"When I moved to London I found out supposedly I have perfect size-four feet. I had no idea there was such a thing as foot modelling."
The 27-year-old is a former Riverdance star and told Breakfast Republic on 2fm that Michael Flatley was "very inspiring".
