Killer Dave Mahon and his partner Audrey Fitzpatrick praised crime boss Daniel Kinahan for helping to organise a fund-raiser for missing Amy Fizpatrick, it has emerged.

The couple presented a certificate at the Kinahan-linked Auld Dubliner pub, in Puerto Banus, Spain, following the event.

Amy Fitzpatrick went missing from Malaga, Spain, in 2008. She was aged 15 at the time.

A 20km walk from Puerto Banus to Elviria took place on September 18, 2011, to help raise funds.

In a certificate of praise, the couple thanked staff of the pub for taking part.

"The Auld Dubliner was presented this certificate for sponsoring and participating in the walk for Amy," it said.

"Audrey Fitzpatrick and Dave Mahon wish to give heartfelt thanks to all, especially Daniel Kinahan and all his staff here for their support for Amy," it said.

The certificate, discovered by the Sunday World, was signed by both Ms Fitzpatrick and Mahon (45).

The Auld Dubliner pub closed down around the start of 2013.

Killed

Daniel Kinahan is the son of international crime boss Christy Kinahan.

Ms Fitzpatrick has remained with her husband Mahon, despite his conviction for knifing to death her son Dean Fitzpatrick.

Mahon killed Mr Fitzpatrick (23) in 2013.

In June this year, he was given a seven-year sentence for manslaughter.

Mahon had denied murdering Mr Fitzpatrick on May 26, 2013, a day after the deceased interfered with his bicycle to annoy him.

He had claimed that father-of-one Mr Fitzpatrick walked into the knife he was holding and his death was an accident.

But the prosecution case was that Mahon was drunk, angry and agitated and he stabbed his stepson, before fleeing the scene and leaving him to die from his wound on the street.

Dean's dad, Christopher Fitzpatrick, said the death had taken its toll on him, and he had since been hospitalised due to stress.
