Keywest's Andy spoils model girlfriend Laura with birthday surprise

There's no denying that statuesque model Laura O'Shea and Keywest front man Andy Kavanagh are a match made in showbiz heaven.

The loved-up couple have been dating for three years after graduating from the dreaded 'friend zone'.

"I originally met Andy when I first started modelling at about 18, but I was living in Limerick where I'm from," Laura told the Diary.

"We kept in contact and became best friends. When I moved up to Dublin three years ago we went on a date and the rest is history."

Laura is a regular in the crowd at boisterous Keywest concerts, cheering on her musical other half.

Watching adoring fans screaming at your man can't be easy, but thankfully Laura isn't the jealous type. She said she's unfazed at the prospect of groupies throwing themselves at her other half.

"No [I don't get jealous], we both trust each other. It's just like me going off on a job, he's just going off to work," she said.

"We're both in a similar industry so we understand that."

The Limerick woman is one of the busiest models on boss Andrea's books.

She is a booker's go-to girl for photoshoots and does regular TV slots on Ireland AM and Xpose with best friend and former Miss Ireland Aoife Walsh.

"Aoife and I have known each other for years, before the modelling. I met her when I first moved up to Dublin, before she was Miss Ireland," she explained.

"We both worked in Abercrombie and Fitch, so it's nice to have someone that I know from before it all."

However, it's not all work and no play for Laura as she took a well-deserved break this past week to celebrate her 25th birthday, including a night out in Bucks over the weekend.

"There was just a small group of us and we had a great time. Michele [McGrath, model and Bucks' hostess] would be a really good friend so she told us to come for a drink," Laura explained.

However, the festivities didn't stop there, as Andy whisked Laura away on a romantic getaway in the Kingdom of Kerry.

"I thought I was going on a photoshoot but Andy had actually organised a surprise for my birthday - he got Andrea involved and everything," she said.

"He's never managed to surprise me before so there's a first time for everything."
