Kathryn's keen to spread her production wings in Montrose
SHE'S already established herself as one of the country's leading ladies when it comes to TV presenting and now Kathryn Thomas is looking to spread her production wings too.
The host of Operation Transformation and The Voice of Ireland revealed that she's keen to develop more of her own programme formats and regularly pitches her own project ideas to the head producers in RTE.
"I've recently signed with Noel Kelly, my new agent and I'll definitely be pushing for more production work in the next year or two," the 35-year-old told the Herald.
"I am developing formats all the time, I love thinking up new ideas whether they include me presenting them or not, I'm very interested in the whole production side of things."
The Carlow-native has just returned from a break in California where she visited her sister Linda.
Asked whether she would ever consider a more permanent move stateside the statuesque blonde said she was extremely happy with RTE but took the attitude of "never say never."
"But I do love it over here presenting to an Irish audience," she said at the launch of the Audi TT in the RDS.
"Considering the budgets we have to work with, Irish television is phenomenal."
Keeping her busy over the summer will be a recurring radio stint which Kathryn said she very much enjoys.
"I'm doing another spell on the John Murray Show. I've been asked to do a couple of fill-in slots for him, which I can't wait for."
